    Glass City 3

This one only took 19 minutes to render. Rather low image quality in comparison to most of what I do, but I hope the content can make up for it.

The point of view here is from a suburb. The skyline is very dense and I made many of the buildings into cylinders and cones.

    Still just playing.

I guess I could say something every once in a while. I think I’ll say something about my latter experiments in rendering. I can tell I’m getting better at using POV-Ray. Recently I have been playing with photons and have become better at using it than I was before, I guess that’s not saying much, but at least now I’m not a complete novice. I have also done a total of 2 animated scenes in POV-Ray. The first one was by far the simplest scene I have ever made in POV, simply for the reason of trying to figure out HOW to do the animation. The second was a rudimentary attempt at getting different objects to do different things at different times. I still have some work to do on that topic.

Sorry I don’t anything worth posting this time.

    Glass City #2

I decided to release “Glass City 2” after I changed the ground texture. The marble texture was ok, but it lacked detail and “Glass City 2” is looking up at the buildings from the ground so the lack of detail in the ground was more apparent. I would have either had to place random objects to the ground to prevent bad negative space or change the texture to make the negative space not so bad, so I just changed it to brushed aluminum. The result seems good enough to post even if the buildings are devoid of life.

    Glass City

Some of you may or may not have already known that I have been doing 3D rendering. When starting out with this kind of thing, you will make many renderings that you will not consider publishable. But now I have overcome that and am now going to show off.

    Title: Glass City v1.0

    Renderer: POV-Ray

Render time: forgot to check (probably close to 15hours)

Renderer settings: 1600x1200 antialiased at 0.300

Description: A top down view of glass buildings and a marble ground.
